Brownies are definitely a fave of mine so i just had to try baking these. At first when i looked at the instructions i was a bit hesitate but off i went into the kitchen. I got out all my ingredients i had in and then popped to the shop to get a pack of Oreos. Here is the recipe -
Ingredients you'll need are -
165g (5 1/2oz) butter, plus a little extra for greasing
200g (7oz) Dark chocolate
2 Egg yolks
2 Tsp Vanilla extract
165g (5 1/2oz) Soft light brown sugar
2 Tbsp Plain flour
1 Tbsp Cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
154g pack of Oreo biscuits, broken into quarters
Icing sugar for dusting
Firstly preheat the oven to 180c (350f), Gas mark 5 with the middle shelf ready. Grease your baking tin, line with baking paper. Make sure the paper is overlapping the sides a little. This will make it easier for you to remove the baked goods later!
Now melt the butter and chocolate together in a pan over a low heat until its all melted together. Keep an eye on this whilst doing so to make sure it doesn't burn.
Whisk the eggs, egg yolks and vanilla together in a large bowl until they begin to look light and fluffy. Add the sugar in two additions whisking between each. Pour around the sides so your not knocking out the air that has been whisked into it already. Keep whisking until the mixture becomes stiffer. Once the egg mixture is ready pour the chocolate into it, again around the sides to not knock out the air.
Now add the flour, cocoa powder, salt and a third of the Oreos and stir until its fully combined, then pour the mixture into the prepared tin. Scatter the remaining Oreos over the top, pressing them down slightly. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes. The middle should still be slightly gooey.
Leave the brownies to cool in the tin. The top will sink and crack a little but this is normal. Pull the brownies out using the overlapping paper and cut the brownies into squares. Dust with icing sugar or what i like to use is edible glitter! Nom!!
I had a small slice with a cup of earl grey, it was soo good and will be baking this again sometime soon. Let me know what you think and if your going to try it yourself. I would love to know how they turn out. Enjoy!
Love Lulu xx
